Statement:

Titled after the political party founded in 1997—often seen as a turning point in Venezuela’s socio-economic decline—this series explores nostalgia in the minds of immigrants. Glitching, overlapping, and blurring effects are used to reflect the fragility of memory. The images are unedited and captured spontaneously using panning, zoom-ins, multiple exposures, and other in-camera techniques. By embracing the camera’s limitations, the work treats photography not as a tool for documenting reality, but as a means of imposing perspective. The choice of PVC fabric echoes the aesthetic of political propaganda, functioning as both critique and parody of official narratives.
